Manufacturing Safety Ontario
Monarch builds practical health and safety programs for manufacturers across Ottawa, Eastern Ontario, Kingston, and Toronto — reducing incidents, improving compliance, and keeping your production running safely.
Industry-Specific Risks We Address
- ✓Machine guarding — unguarded moving parts cause serious injuries
- ✓Lockout/tagout (LOTO) — energy control during maintenance and repair
- ✓Ergonomic hazards — repetitive strain, manual handling, and awkward postures
- ✓Noise exposure from machinery — hearing loss is one of the most common manufacturing injuries
- ✓Chemical exposure — solvents, lubricants, cleaning agents, and process chemicals
- ✓Forklift and material handling safety
- ✓Compressed gas and pressure systems
Regulatory Framework
Ontario manufacturing safety is governed by the OHSA and Industrial Establishments Regulation O. Reg. 851. Employers must maintain machine guarding, implement LOTO programs, manage WHMIS compliance, and provide worker training for all hazardous tasks.
- OHSA — Occupational Health and Safety Act
- O. Reg. 851 — Industrial Establishments
- O. Reg. 833 — Control of Exposure to Biological or Chemical Agents
- WHMIS 2015 — hazardous product labeling and SDS
- COR™ certification — increasingly standard in the sector
